Ground-bearing-pressure for crawlers

How are Ground Bearing Pressures calculated?

Ground bearing pressure for crawler cranes in CRANEbee are calculated with a crawler-area that consists of:
  1. Crawler-Width including curved edges on both sides (like soft ground).
  2. Crawler-Length including length between the middle of each, the front and back tumbler (like hard ground). The curved edges from the middle of each tumbler to end of the crawler are not included.
The calculation for the crawler-cranes is only idealised as we expect a homogeneous (uniform) ground.
If the database is marked, with either Hardground or Softground, the procedure is changed. For example the MLC-300 Hard-/Soft-Ground
